WOMEN REMAIN EXCLUDED IN DUBLIN

Colm Holmes • 13 May 2023

Dublin Diocese Novena lists only Reflections from men!

What about the Synodal call to end the marginalisation of women?

There is not one reflection by a woman in this Dublin diocese Novena to the Holy Spirit (21 – 29 May 2023).

Only men are credited with the Reflections:

·     Archbishop Dermot Farrell (twice);

·     Blessed Columba Marmion;

·     Pope Francis;

·     Saint John Henry Newman;

·     Mike Drennan SJ;

·     Khalil Gibran;

·     John Birch;

·     Domhnall Ó Murchada.

Come Holy Spirit and free your church from patriarchy!

In Dublin the answer to this prayer is NOT YET! NOT YET!

It is a dull document but perhaps all the cans that have been kicked down the Synodal road will yet create a din that cannot be ignored.
