WAC decided to analyse the 26 Diocesan Synthesis Reports to the Synod under 3 headings: This is the third heading: LAITY: Participation of Laity in Decision Making. Was this referred to (YES or NO) and if yes include a quotation.
Our research showed that 69% of dioceses (18 out of 26) made references to LAITY INVOLVED IN DECISION MAKING.
This is crude method of capturing such complex and nuanced documents within the limits of a spreadsheet. Our researchers were overwhelmed by the generosity, wisdom, honesty and goodwill reflected in every synthesis. These qualities shone through because of, or despite, the process in which each synthesis was developed.
