Rose O'Connor chaired the working group on women in leadership for the 2016 Synod in Limerick Diocese. The group's report called for the opening of ministry and leadership roles to the lay faithful - and especially for the voices of women to be heard and their gifts fully empowered.
No one is better placed to assess the prospect of removal of roadblocks to lay leadership by the synodality process now pending for every diocese in Ireland.
