EQUALITY FOR WOMEN IN THE CATHOLIC CHURCH:
WAC Ireland celebrated INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY;8 MARCH 2026 at St Mary’s Cathedral, Dublin.

Wearing green St Brigid’s Cloaks we handed out leaflets calling for EQUALITY for Women in the Catholic Church.

We Are Church Ireland supports the full participation of Women in all ministries.
How can you help?
• Become a Member of We Are Church Ireland
• Write to your bishop calling for an end to all discrimination of women in our Church
• Follow the synodal discussions in the Irish Catholic Church.
Let us remember that:
o Saint Brigid was a Bishop and Abbess of a Dual Monastery of men and women
o Throughout his life Jesus treated women and men as equals
o Women were at the ‘Last Supper’
o Read Paul’s letter to the Romans 16:1 and verse 6 about the role of women in the early church.
