WAC Ireland   PRESS RELEASE      20 August 2018

We Are Church is calling on its members and everyone concerned to wear a blue ribbon this week. The blue ribbon is a symbol of our support for and solidarity with all the victims and survivors of clerical sexual abuse and is a call for justice and truth. Pope Francis should open the Vatican files and bishops & cardinals involved in cover-ups must also face justice.

“Wearing a blue ribbon is not in any way disrespectful to the papal Mass or any of the other events this week” stated Brendan Butler.

As a victim of abuse by a priest some 50 years ago. Thankfully I have forgiven this Priest but his actions have left with a love of men I do not take part in penatration but I occasionally I would give or receive a massage from another naked man or we might sleep together or shower together we do not live together. I was told in Confession that this would have to stop or I could receive absolution I left broken hearted. Because it’s the only way I can express my love for this kind thoughtful man What am I to do
